Gas Membrane Verification
Where a site has hazardous ground gas such as methane, carbon dioxide or radon, the gas protection membrane under each building has to be installed correctly and checked before it is covered. Building control, warranty providers and planning conditions usually ask for independent verification of that installation. FS Verification carries out the inspection and gives you the evidence you need to sign off each plot.
What we check
A typical verification visit covers:
• The membrane type and thickness match the approved design
• Laps, joints and seams are fully sealed
• Top hats and preformed units around service penetrations
• Punctures, damage and any repairs
• Detailing at cavities, steps and changes in level
• The venting layer and outlets, where they form part of the designWhen to book
Book the visit once the membrane is fully installed and before it is covered by screed, insulation or concrete. After that it can't be inspected. On larger developments we verify plot by plot to suit your programme.
